An interesting juxtaposition. My childhood was rooted in comic books and cartoons about Superman, Spiddy, Archie, Richie Rich, Land of the Lost, and the Incredible Hulk. No monkeys, but a good video.

One of the best TV shows! This story represents classic Chinese literature, as one of the main four, and is very difficult to read (in Chinese)... trust me, I've tried, but a classic tale, nonetheless. The "monkey king" comes from the story, Journey to the West. The story doesn't follow the monkey, but actually, a monk, named Xuan Zang, on his pilgrimage to India to get a copy of the Sutras (a religious text like the Bible). The TV adaptation was made in 1986.. an oldie, but a goodie.
